Job Description

The Transition Manager will be responsible for overseeing the seamless transition of services, processes, or systems from one state to another within our organization or for our clients. The successful candidate will possess strong project management and change management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful transitions.

We are only considering candidates who reside locally in Austin, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transition Planning: Lead the development of transition plans that outline the objectives, scope, timeline, and resources required for successful transitions. Work closely with stakeholders to identify transition requirements and dependencies.

  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels to communicate transition plans, gather input, and address concerns. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and support throughout the transition process.

  3. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and obstacles to successful transitions and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Proactively monitor and manage risks throughout the transition lifecycle to minimize disruption and ensure successful outcomes.

  4. Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new processes, systems, or services by stakeholders. Engage with impacted parties to communicate changes, address resistance, and promote acceptance of the transition.

  5. Project Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors to execute transition plans according to schedule and budget. Ensure that all transition activities are well-coordinated and aligned with overall project objectives.

  6. Quality Assurance: Monitor transition activities to ensure that they meet established quality standards and requirements. Conduct reviews and inspections to identify and address any issues or deviations from the transition plan.

  7. Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on transition progress, key milestones, and performance metrics to stakeholders. Prepare and distribute transition status reports, dashboards, and presentations as required.

  8. Lessons Learned: Conduct post-transition reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement. Document best practices, challenges, and recommendations for future transitions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management, change management, or transition management roles.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and change management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and drive alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP or PROSCI certification is preferred but not required.
