Job Description

This position will be responsible for drafting formal, accurate, and concise summaries (minutes) of past virtual council meetings, working primarily from video recordings and transcripts. This requires attention to detail, and the ability to summarize lengthy and complex conversations following formatting and style conventions within templates. The duration of this project will be 2 months, approximately 6-8 meetings a month. We are anticipating about 65 hours total to complete this project. The expectation is that this person will use their own computer, but one can be provided if necessary.

RATE: $15.43 - $18.43/hr. On W2

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Review lengthy video recordings (approx. 2-3 hours) and transcripts of past meetings, including technical presentations and large group discussions focused on transportation topics;
  • Concisely summarize meeting content while capturing key discussion themes and individual questions and comments;
  • Identify key decisions made during each meeting, including discussion consensus and procedural votes;
  • Be available and meet with the supervisor on a regular cadence (may be 1-2 times per week) and as needed; 
  • Receive and implement supervisor feedback/ proposed revisions as well as answering questions or implementing proposed revisions from the agency’s Editorial team 
  • Deliver final deliverables (minutes and all final revisions based on supervisor feedback) prior to legally mandated public posting deadlines;
  • Correctly identify and cite individual meeting participants by name and affiliation;
  • Adhere to the agency’s preset formats and style guidelines within document templates;
  • Work closely and communicate regularly with staff/supervisor to resolve organizational and editorial issues, ensuring accurate representation of complex processes and programs discussed in meetings;
  • Maintain organized progress records
