Job Description:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Division Chief, the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for supporting a variety of Human Resource activities including recruitment, onboarding employees, offboarding employees, supporting other HR Business Partners, HR Payroll Specialist, and the HR Division Chief.  

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Assist with recruitment activities for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission which includes:
    • Collaborating with managers, gathering information to ensure that job descriptions are up to date and accurate
    • Participating in the interview process, scheduling of interviews and reviewing candidate credentials
    • Providing advice and guidance through the decision process
  • Preparing and sending offer letters and coordinating background investigations, as necessary.
  • Conduct onboarding for new employees which includes:
    • Preparing and sending new Hire Packets
    • Creating Employee files for new hires
    • Conducting their initial onboarding on their first day
    • Following up on their 30-60-90-day check-ins
  • Conducting Offboarding for employees in coordination with the HR Payroll Specialist
    • Set up offboarding meetings a week in advance of their leave date
    • Collect all equipment from the staff member on their last day
    • Send forms accordingly to relay the staff member is offboarding
    • Coordinate with the HR Admin on appropriate planning for the type of leave

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Willingness and ability to get involved in all aspects of human resources management
  • Proven ability to earn trust and handle confidential matters discreetly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and knowledge of Taleo database systems
  • Up to date knowledge of state and federal regulations, industry standards, and HR best practices
  • Familiarity with compensation, performance management and employee relations

 

Experience, Education, and Training:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience in a recruitment Human Resources position preferred.

 

Salary is commensurate with experience.

 

The successful candidate will be required to pass an extensive background check that includes a full credit check, CORI, drug screen, and fingerprinting.

 

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for the implementation of the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011). Under the law, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor license in Massachusetts.
