Job Overview

The Client seeking a highly experienced Project Manager (PM) to lead and support the implementation of the Budget Planning Tool project. The Project Manager will partner with program and IT teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of project milestones while maintaining budget, scope, and schedule.

This role requires a PMP Certification (must be noted on the resume; proof may be requested). The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating meetings, managing deliverables, tracking budgets, handling risks/issues, overseeing scope changes, and providing regular project status updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Budget Planning Tool project across program and IT teams.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, and contingency strategies.

• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, and ensure clear communication among stakeholders.

• Oversee development of SDLC artifacts, ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications.

• Manage change requests, scope, and budget to ensure project stays on track.

• Track project progress using Agile methodologies with feature-driven sprints.

• Identify, document, and escalate risks/issues appropriately.

• Prepare and present weekly project status reports to sponsors and leadership.

• Foster strong relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

• Ensure compliance with project governance standards and best practices.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience managing projects across large organizations, including planning, risk management, and contingency planning.

• 10+ years of experience analyzing problems, developing solutions, and preparing concise reports.

• 10+ years overseeing SDLC processes, ensuring translation of business requirements into technical deliverables.

• 10+ years of stakeholder management and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

• 10+ years of experience facilitating meetings, managing status reporting, and presenting updates.

• 10+ years of experience in Agile methodology, including feature-driven sprint management.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• PMP Certification is required (must be included on resume; proof may be requested).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience implementing Agile practices for one or more State of Texas agencies.

• 2+ years of additional experience with Agile project delivery and related best practices.

Terms of Service

• Start Date: October 1, 2025

• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding state holidays)

• Work Location: 701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751 (Hybrid – Onsite & Telework)
