Job Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor to support frontline team members through instructional delivery and test preparation at a Tyson facility. This role focuses on empowering adult learners by providing high-quality instruction, academic support, and engagement through the Upward Academy program.
Key Responsibilities

Teach High School Equivalency (HSE) curriculum and test preparation to frontline team members.

Create, develop, and update instructional materials aligned with course objectives.

Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions to stay current on best practices and program updates.

Participate in recruitment events and program culminating activities to support learner engagement and community outreach.

Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for adult learners.
Required Qualifications

Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional methods in:

Reading

Math
-
Science
-
Social Studies

Native-like fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for lesson planning, documentation, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Teaching, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in High School Equivalency or adult education.
Skills & Competencies

Strong classroom management, organization, and lesson planning skills.

Ability to provide clear, concise instructions and explanations.

Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse learner populations.

Strong technology skills with experience integrating technology into instruction.
