Job Description

We are seeking a passionate ESL Instructor to teach onsite English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes for frontline team members at a Tyson Foods facility. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping adult learners strengthen their English language skills in a workplace setting.

Position Details

  • Job ID: 5940
  • Location: Humboldt, TN
  • Contract Duration: July 6, 2026 – October 3, 2026
  • Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Class Times:
    • 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
    • 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Instructional Hours: Approximately 9 hours per week
  • Work Setting: 100% Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Teach onsite English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses for frontline team members.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities that support adult learners.
  • Deliver engaging, learner-focused instruction in a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Assess student progress and maintain attendance and learning records.
  • Participate in Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and required training sessions.
  • Attend recruitment events and program-related activities.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support student success and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, ESL, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience teaching ESL, ESP, adult education, or English language learners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging instructional materials and adapt teaching methods for diverse learners.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or ESL teaching certification.
  • Experience teaching in workplace or adult learning environments.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
