• Collaborate with business units to understand operational procedures, data requirements, and reporting needs.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements.
• Develop workflow diagrams, system specifications, and technical documentation for new or modified applications.
• Analyze business problems and recommend technology-driven solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
• Assist with developing Python scripts and prototypes for process automation and AI-driven features.
• Use Bash scripting for system-level automation and deployment activities.
• Apply pre-built AI/ML models and APIs to business use cases.
• Support data integration and API development activities.
• Review system capabilities, technical constraints, and requirements for alignment with applicable TxDOT standards.
• Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and implementation of new solutions.
• Work in an Agile/rapid development environment to quickly prototype and improve solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, data teams, and other technical professionals.
• Maintain source code and development artifacts using Git and support CI/CD processes.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience collaborating with business units to understand operational processes, data requirements, and reporting needs.
• At least 1 year of experience documenting user requirements, workflows, and system specifications.
• At least 1 year of experience performing feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience developing scripts or prototypes to automate processes and integrate AI-driven capabilities.
• At least 1 year of experience reviewing system capabilities and constraints against organizational or technical standards.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting testing and validation of technology solutions.
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and experience working with pre-built models or APIs.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of data integration and API development.
• Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• Exposure to Docker/containerization.
• Experience with Git/version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and rapid prototyping.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience working with government or public-sector technology environments.
• Familiarity with TxDOT standards and processes.
• Experience developing AI-enabled automation or proof-of-concept solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI and data services.
