Job Description
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and recommendations for controls and technology solutions.
- Program, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain PLC-based control systems.
- Support Schneider Electric/Modicon PLCs, including both modern and legacy systems.
- Troubleshoot automated production, conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, interlocks, and material-handling equipment.
- Diagnose and support SCADA/HMI systems, including Ignition and iFix.
- Troubleshoot industrial communications between PLCs, HMIs, scanners, field devices, and plant-floor systems.
- Support barcode, scanning, and vision systems such as Keyence, Cognex, and SICK.
- Interpret electrical schematics, perform I/O mapping, and diagnose equipment faults.
- Lead controls upgrades, replacements, modernization, and system development initiatives.
- Develop, review, and modify system specifications, configurations, programs, and coding standards.
- Develop and execute integrated test plans.
- Ensure compliance with IT/IS standards, methodologies, policies, and procedures.
- Work with vendors, technical teams, management, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate technology solutions and recommend cost-effective implementation approaches.
- Provide technical guidance for hardware, software, and equipment purchases.
- Perform root-cause analysis across controls, electrical, communications, and equipment systems.
- Support future technology planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 6+ years of experience in Information Systems, controls engineering, industrial automation, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Schneider Electric/Modicon PLCs strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of SCADA, HMI, scripting, SQL, server-based technologies, and industrial automation.
- Experience with ladder logic, structured programming, I/O mapping, and HMI integration.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks and plant-floor communications.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with System Development Lifecycle methodologies and integrated testing.
- Basic project management capabilities.
