Dutech’s Job

• Pay Rate: $40.00/hr
  Schedule: Approximately 2–5 hours per week + 30 minutes weekly preparation; possible 30-minute monthly meeting

• Teach HSE/GED preparation in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
• Develop and maintain course materials and instructional resources.
• Provide clear explanations and directions while maintaining an effective learning environment.
• Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions.
• Participate in student recruitment events and culminating activities.
• Incorporate technology effectively into instruction.
• Support students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods for adult education.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Teaching, or a related field.
• 3+ years of High School Equivalency or adult education teaching experience.
• Second-language proficiency is a plus.
• Strong cross-cultural communication and sensitivity.
• Excellent technology and instructional skills.
