Job Description
As a Network Design Engineer, your primary responsibility is to design, plan, and implement robust and scalable network infrastructures to meet the connectivity needs of an organization. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop network designs that align with business objectives, security policies, and industry best practices. Your role involves evaluating existing network architectures, proposing enhancements, and deploying solutions to optimize network performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs for network connectivity, performance, and security.

Conduct thorough analysis of existing network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and configurations, to identify areas for improvement.

Develop network design proposals, including high-level and detailed network architecture diagrams, to address identified requirements and challenges.

Network Architecture Design: Design scalable and resilient network architectures that meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.

Determine appropriate network technologies, protocols, and topologies based on business needs and best practices.

Specify hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to support the proposed network design.

Network Implementation and Deployment: Implement network designs by configuring and deploying network devices, services, and protocols according to design specifications.

Collaborate with network engineers and technicians to ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of network components.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure equipment and services necessary for network deployment.

Network Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze network performance metrics, including throughput, latency, and packet loss, to identify bottlenecks and optimize network resources.

Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies, traffic shaping, and network optimization techniques to prioritize critical data flows and ensure optimal performance.

Conduct periodic performance assessments and capacity planning to anticipate future network requirements and scale infrastructure accordingly.

Network Security Integration: Integrate security measures into network designs to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.

Implement security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to enforce network security policies and compliance requirements.

Stay updated on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities to proactively address potential risks to the network infrastructure.
